Embarrassing Moments Last a Lifetime
Embarrassing moments can last a lifetime, either with shame or with laughter. Share some funny moments with us so we can laugh together!
My first kiss happened in front of my car, just before I was about to leave his house. I’d expected him to kiss me at some point, but I didn’t think it would be that night! Everything about it was perfect, and when I got in my car, I was still in shock. I’d been to his house several times, but as I backed down his driveway and stopped at the stop sign, all I could think about was the fact that my dream guy had just kissed me! I couldn’t remember how to drive home. I tried to figure it out, but I ended up being very lost. When I called him for help, he was confused as to how I’d gotten myself lost, but he helped me anyway. I never told him the real reason why I was lost.

Every Valentines Day at my school, they sell Candy-Grams. One year, some of my friends from Geometry class decided to play a trick. They bought three Candy-Grams – one for me, one for a boy in the class and one for our teacher. They arranged it so that I received a candy gram from the “guy,” he received a gram from “me” and our teacher would get one from “us,” announcing that we were a couple. Even though he was cute, we’d hardly ever spoken, and we definitely weren’t a couple. When the fateful hour of Candy-Gram delivery arrived, the entire class laughed as the boy and I received our Candy-Grams. I was so embarrassed I didn’t say anything, but the boy spoke up and informed the class that he did not send me anything. Someone else declared I must have arranged the whole thing. My two friends cackled beside me until, finally, one of them admitted that they had plotted the whole ordeal. I was mortified at first, but I became pretty good friends with the guy I’d supposedly given a Candy-Gram.

I was talking to a fellow drama student about how there was no “star” in the school musical, since it was a scene show. I made a dramatic motion where I flung my arm out and put the back of my hand on my forehead. In the midst of doing this, I almost smacked my crush in the face.

I was walking out of the movie theater carrying on a conversation with a group of friends, and suddenly, I stumbled on a dip in the sidewalk. It happened so fast that I didn’t even have time to grab one of their arms or catch myself. Instead, I went straight down. I fell so quickly that one of my friends thought I’d passed out. Luckily I didn’t break or hurt anything, except my pride.

Time Machine Tale
Did you know that King David was attractive? The Bible says so! I had this realization in the middle of youth group when we read in I Samuel that David was “rugged and handsome and had beautiful eyes.” I whispered to my best friend, “King David was pretty? No one ever told me that King David was pretty! These things are important!” Even though I thought I was being subtle and quiet, I wasn’t… because my youth pastor called me out, saying, “Lindsey wants a time machine!” The joke has lasted since.
