Beautiful Creatures (PG-13)
Ethan longs for some excitement in his life, and finds exactly what he was looking for when he meets Lena, a new girl who moved to his Southern town. Rumor has it that Lena is a witch; to her, the name caster is more suitable. On her 16th birthday, her powers will be claimed for the light – such as her father – or for the dark – that of her mother. But as the story unfolds, Lena discovers that her powers are more powerful than predicted. The illusions and effects in Beautiful Creatures are mostly generated on set and captured on the camera. The director wanted to limit the use of computer generation and green screen.
The battle of good and evil exists in all of us, but in reality, if we have chosen Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, then our nature is good. We are sons and daughters of the Most High, so we cannot be evil. Even though we struggle with evil thoughts or feel discouraged a lot of the time, remember that those emotions can be overcome by the truth of God’s love and sacrifice.
