Choosing the Right Color
Apply to the base of your jaw line. Blend until there is no distinction between the product color and your natural color. Try every color if you need until you find the perfect balance. Try to avoid blending shades together to find the right shade as ingredients between shades aren’t always identical and may not mix properly. If your skin is oily or acne-prone, choose a shade slightly lighter than your skin tone because the natural oils from your skin will darken the shade. If you have a lot of dark spots in your complexion, or under your eyes, choose a concealer that is one shade darker than your foundation to mask over these areas and blend foundation over face to seamlessly cover skin variances. If possible, test shades in natural light. The florescent lights in store settings are harsh, making it difficult to find an accurate match.

Start applying your foundation to the middle of your face and work outward. Blend foundation into hairline and neck to prevent lines. Cover your eyelids with your foundation to prevent irregular coloration and seamless eye make-up application. Eyelids are very sensitive and need protection from the sun, so apply sunscreen or foundation with an SPF, to your eyelids and face everyday!
For a clean, flawless look: use a primer, concealer, foundation and powder to set your make-up. A primer fills in unseen cracks and crevices to create a smooth surface for make-up application. Conceal your blemishes or color variances by dapping concealer over those specific areas. Apply your foundation along your entire face. Finish with a powder to lengthen the wear of your make-up. Apply powder diligently in oily areas and use it throughout the day, if needed, to touch up and get rid of shine.
If you’re using your fingers to apply your make-up, use your ring finger. It is the weakest finger and will place less pressure on your skin, preventing pull and damage. If you use a sponge for application, sweep gently to avoid pulling your skin. If using a brush, apply your foundation in a circular motion. Be sure to tap off excess powder on your brush or puff to avoid streaking. Replace or clean brush, puff or sponge regularly.
