Collaborating Prints and Pattern
This fall mix up your look with new and trendy prints and pattern.
Here are three tips to match similar prints without giving others around you a headache:
1.) Make perfect combinations of prints by repeating the same color in every piece of the outfit (for example, incorporate a navy paisley with a navy and red plaid).
Choose one color or set of colors in the same family to help mesh different prints. The color doesn’t have to be consistent only within your clothes, include it with your shoes to make your look uniform. Add a bag and accessories as well. It’s a subtle look that can make a large impact. Choose one color or set of colors in the same family to help mesh different prints.
2.) Combine loose prints, such as a swirl, with a structured pattern, like a stripe.
To be on the safe side, it’s a good idea to use a black and white striped top with a print of your choice on the pant, or vice versa. Wear accessories in a solid color or a matching pattern.
3.) Blend small designs with larger-scale ones (such as gingham with bold flowers).
It all has to do with the size of the pattern. By using a smaller print against a larger print, the two will begin to balance each other out – one complimenting the other.
