Embarrassing Moments Last a Lifetime
Embarrassing moments can last a lifetime, either with shame or with laughter. Share some funny moments with us so we can laugh together!
My boyfriend wrote a lengthy love letter in the back of my yearbook when we started dating. One day, while I was in class, some mean boys in one of my classes stole my yearbook and read the whole letter out loud to the class and everyone laughed at me. I tried to snatch it away from them, but I couldn’t get it back. Right after they finished embarrassing me, the teacher came in. When she found out what happened, she gave them all detention and made them apologize.

I wore a beautiful dress with a flowing train to my Jr./Sr. Banquet my senior year of high school. Trains are lovely, but you have to be careful with them if you’re clumsy, like me. I was leaving the bathroom and my dress caught in the door. Thankfully, nothing ripped, but I did stumble awkwardly right as the guy I had a MAJOR crush on walked by. He smirked at me and said, “Be careful” and kept walking.

Loud In the Lobby
I was stage managing a musical. Before I headed up to the booth, I was joking and laughing with some of the other stage hands. The Sound Designer said something to me as I left, and I turned around playfully yelling, “SHUT UP DAN!” as I walked into the lobby. I didn’t know that there was a big crowd in the lobby, so as I turned everybody was staring at me in silence. I walked on until my friend and I casually exchanged hellos and then the entire lobby laughed.

Normally before theater performances, there’s an announcement made that no flash photography is allowed. My last day playing Emily in Our Town, I was doing a very important scene and I saw a camera flash. Of course it was my parents.

Two of my friends and I were walking arm in arm one afternoon (I was in the middle). Just ahead was a step that led to the parking lot where two of our guy friends were sitting. One of them was the cutest guy in our class and his sister happened to be one of my friends walking with me. We were starting to unlink arms so that we didn’t run into the boys, but his sister kept saying, “Keep walking, keep walking.” We picked up speed, but the boys didn’t move. I wound up bumping into him, losing my balance, tripped OVER HIS SHOULDER and fell flat on my back in front of him. Don’t ask me how I’m so uncoordinated that I TRIPPED OVER somebody, but I did. Thankfully, he was nice about it…that and his mom was nearby and for some reason blamed him, making him apologize.
