Embarrassing Moments Last a Lifetime
Embarrassing moments can last a lifetime, either with shame or with laughter. Share some funny moments with us so we can laugh together!
I went on a double date with my friend, her boyfriend and my crush. It was the day after Christmas and there was snow on the ground – a perfect day for ice-skating. It was supposed to be the best date, until I realized I’d never been ice-skating. While my friend flitted around the ice with grace, I fell every other minute. I tried to play it off and collect myself, but my date couldn’t be fooled. I would start talking to him, stare into his handsome eyes and forget to move my feet. Every time I’d fall, he’d be a gentleman and help me up, but it didn’t make me feel any better. We never went on another date, which is probably a good thing because I would’ve been too embarrassed to go out with him again.

It was a beautiful, snowy day in the mountains and I was supposed to go skiing with my friend, her boyfriend and her brother. Although it wasn’t a date, her brother and I were paired up almost instantly because the ski lift only seats two people. I had never been skiing before, so I was nervous, but I assumed it couldn’t be that hard. I spent most of the day falling down the ski slope. Luckily, my friend’s brother would come to my rescue and pluck me out of the snow. At the end of the day, I had a huge crush on him because he’d helped me out so much. I didn’t win him over with my skiing skills that day but he did ask me out, so I’m glad I took a chance and went skiing for the first time!

The first time I ever watched Tangled with my family, I would not shut-up about how good looking Flynn Rider was. Every chance I got I said something along the lines of, “Man! That cartoon is pretty, That’s not fair! He’s gorgeous!” Near the very end of the movie, my mom pointed out that he looked like the guy I really liked last year. Needless to say, my family teased me for quite awhile.

I had finally received my final paper from a frustrating class. The teacher hadn’t given me a good grade; marked it late when it wasn’t and wrote comments on the paper that he had not given me all semester. I was venting with two of my friends about how I had already had a long day and reading this paper didn’t help. I put the paper down and tried to say, “Whatever, I don’t care. I passed the class.” What came out of my mouth was, “Whatever, I don’t care. I passed the cat.”

I was at a weekend retreat with my youth group and I wanted some pancakes to eat Sunday morning before we went home. I picked up the syrup container, only to find out that someone hadn’t screwed the lid on correctly. The lid and the container separated. When the container hit the floor, syrup splattered across the floor, up the dish room wall and all over me. Let’s just say it was a long sticky road back home.
