Safety Tips for Late Summer Nights
Warm, unforgettable nights are one of the greatest aspects of summer. However, when darkness falls, danger can rise. Safety is all about common sense, so remember these five tips to ensure harmless late night adventures:
Spread the Word:
Always inform someone where you’re going and when you expect to be home. If you have one, keep your cell in an easily accessible place.
Never walk alone at night. Remain with a group and keep track of one another so no one falls behind.
Search the Area:
Be aware of your surroundings. Know who is (and isn’t) around you and watch for potential hiding places, like bushes or dark alleys.
In most situations, screaming and yelling can draw attention to an attacker and scare them away.
The Long Way:
Although shortcuts save time, they are a bad idea at night if not well-lit.
