Suite Scarlett

By Maureen Johnson

Scarlett Martin has worked at her parent’s dinky hotel, Hopewell, since she turned fifteen. She was, somewhat unfortunately, assigned the Empire Suite—home to Mrs. Amberson, an “aging C-list starlet” with a penchant for ordering Scarlett around. Scarlett’s many errands include (but are not limited to): fetching sushi, buying matches, finding a book on how to write a book and secretly premiering a Shakespeare play before her parent’s return home. As time passes Scarlett and Mrs. Amberson form an uncanny and unexpectedly close relationship. But when Scarlett meets a boy she likes, Eric, she’s still desperate to keep him away from her hectic life. Maureen Johnson’s novel is unique, funny and bursting with personality!
