Evolving into womanhood can be rough, especially when you zoom in on an aspect of your body that doesn’t hold up to your stringent standards. What you pique at can ruin your day or make you insecure. Fortunately, the fashion and beauty industry has advanced enough to where you now have easy access to products that will enhance your features and give you a confidence boost.
Smiles
Your smile initially stands out to others. But, maybe you’re afraid that its shine isn’t optimal. Ask yourself, “What am I doing that could be affecting my smile?” Consuming dark drinks like coffee, tea and colas as well as eating food like blueberries, grapes and pomegranate can stain your teeth. To help brighten your smile wear cooler shades of eye makeup or lipstick. Tones of blues and purples will deflect yellow from the teeth creating an optical allusion that your teeth are white. If you want something to actually brighten your smile then try some teeth whitening toothpaste or strips.

Eyebrows
Recent trends have made eyebrows a big deal. You may be worried about the shape and fullness of your brows. Don’t fret over fad eyebrow shapes. Certain styles look good on some girls, but might not fit your face shape or personality! One style does not fit all, so follow the natural curve of your brows.
To darken your brows, use an eyeshadow pigment that closely matches your eyebrow color and fill them in by following your natural curve. You can also use eyebrow gel or pencils to make them appear fuller. There are many techniques to defining eyebrows, so don’t be afraid to explore!
Eyes and Nose
Eyes come in different shapes and sizes but no matter what—you want them to pop. To do so, line the rim of your bottom lash line with white eyeliner then use mascara to lengthen your lashes. Your eyes will appear awake, bright and large! Using certain eyeshadow colors will also make your eyes pop.
- Blue eyed ladies should wear earth tones, such as browns and grays.
- Green eyed ladies should wear warm colors like pinks and purples.
- Hazel eyed ladies should wear sheer colors with a touch of shimmer, so use pale pinks and yellows.
- Brown eyed ladies can wear an array of shades but stick with green or shadows with flecks of gold.
Just like eyes, your nose can easily be manipulated by using the right makeup. Gently brush a highlighter down the bridge of your nose, and use a bronzer that’s slightly darker than your foundation on both sides of your nose. This will create the illusion that your nose is long and thin. Another option is using a contour kit to give it the shape you desire.
Breasts
Your breasts are an area that’s easy to accentuate or minimize to your liking. If you’re worried about your chest, first check your posture. Slouching will make your chest look small. By practicing good posture your chest will appear bigger as well as accentuate other aspects of your body. But don’t fret if you already have a full chest! Good posture will draw attention to your confidence, not just your chest.
Your everyday attire influences the appearance of your chest. An incorrect bra size will negatively affect your breasts appearance. Go to a local lingerie store that specializes in bra sizing to be fit correctly. If you want to enhance the size of your chest, wear detailed necklines and light colors but don’t overdo it or you risk your chest looking smaller. Asymmetrical or crew necklines flatter women with small breasts. If you’re looking to downplay your breasts, wear dark colors and V-necks to take emphasis away from your chest. Wearing cardigans and short necklaces also help draw attention from your chest. Avoid wearing tops with a lot of ruffles, low cut shirts and tight blouses.
Butt
You’d think butts would be out of mind since it’s not in your sight, but that’s not the case. If you’re looking to make your butt appear plumper, draw attention to your waist! When your waist looks small, your backside will look rounder. Wear pants, skirts, dresses and crop tops that fit at your waist. Wear jeans the have stretch to help hug and lift your derriere rather than squash it down. If you’re on the opposite side of the spectrum and want your backside to look small, wear low-rise jeans with longer shirts. Be aware of the size and shape of your jean pockets. Larger pockets will create an illusion of a trimmer tush. For a more permanent solution, do squats and lunges which will tone legs and firm your butt for a nice lift. Not only will you have a nice backside, but your legs will be toned as well.
Natural Beauty
Even with makeup and clothes to enhance our looks available 24/7, it’s important that you pick a day to go without it all. Gaining confidence in yourself means loving who you are and what you look like without all the temporary additions. Maturing into womanhood can be difficult to go through confidently, especially when you set high standards for yourself. Stay true to who you are on the inside and it will reflect your natural beauty on the outside.
