What to Pack for your Summer Vacation
Summer means no school, plenty of sunshine and vacation! Deciding what to pack in your suitcase really depends on where you’re headed and the type of activities in which you want to partake. Check out some examples of what to pack for your upcoming travels.
National Park Trip
We’re lucky to have access to beautiful parks all over the country! For this trip, you’ll need clothes that keep you cool as you hike around or climb rocks by a river. Pack quick-drying shorts and pants as well as short and long-sleeved shirts. If you’re in the mountains, temperatures can drop as the sun sets, so it’s good to have options for layering. Athleisure clothes are readily available and super trendy so finding items to wear should be no trouble. Remember to bring closed-toe shoes and a comfortable, active sandal to keep around camp if you’re staying the night. The most important packing tip for this type of vacation is to pack items that you feel comfortable wearing so nothing will deter you from participating in the all the adventure.
Beach Vacay
Heading to the coast for some waves and rays is the ultimate summer vacation. The beach is great because you can hang out in the sand, read by a pool, play putt-putt and eat out at delicious restaurants. You have the possibility of many different outfits for different activities so packing can become overwhelming. An awesome, versatile item for a beach trip is a dress because it can transition from a casual cover-up to a fancier outfit depending on the accessories. Dresses keep you cool and give you the opportunity to try out this season’s trends. Shorts and tank tops will also keep you cool in the heat. However, warm temperatures don’t mean you need to show more skin. Looking cute and staying modest is easy with this year’s trends! Halter and high wasted bikinis and one-piece swimsuits are so popular. Try out these swim options in a bright color or floral pattern. And don’t forget a bold pair of sunglasses or a fun beach hat to amp the summer fun.
Sightseeing in the City
Being off from school gives you the time to go on an adventure and explore a new city! You may choose to take a more cultural route than relaxing for your vacation. In the city, you can check out museums, popular food spots that showcase other country’s cuisine and stores that aren’t available in your hometown. For this type of trip, pack clothes that make a statement and show your style. Big cities give you the opportunity to take on trends that you may be nervous to wear at home. Definitely pack your favorite pair of jeans and a skirt because they will make a great base for adding on new fashion items that you discover in your travels! Bring along the items that you typically push to the back of your closet because you’re too afraid to wear them during your normal routine. Gain confidence from the markets and museums and let yourself be inspired to have the courage to wear your favorite items in new and exciting ways. Shoes are important in big cities because they can make a statement as well. However, it’s a good idea to pack comfortable shoes, such as a tennis shoe and small sandal that easily fit in your suitcase.
Use this summer to relax, expand your mind, reflect on the Lord and have fun! Travel and pack your suitcase full of clothes that will keep you comfortable and active in new places. Clothing can show off your personality and interests just like your choice in a vacation destination.
