MŌRIAH: Live from the Quarry (Cathedral)

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen a solo album from MŌRIAH (now Smallbone, previously Peters). She has been working with alternative, all female band TRALA. Now she releases an incredible Live from the Quarry EP. This album will take your breath away with its exquisite nature and moments of elation. The music is a cycle of inhale, exhale, pause and listen to this beautiful voice that reminds us of something sweeter and purer – the voice of God.

Maryanne J. George: Not Just Stories (Tribl)

Maryanne J. George releases her EP album Not Just Stories. She’s been creeping into the mix through Maverick City Music, but now delivers a solo album which emphasizes the value of recognizing Jesus through sacred worship. 

The Gray Havens: Blue Flower (Artist Garden)

Christian couple, Licia and David Radford, release Blue Flower, an ethereal album that reminds us of the beauty and freshness of summer, which is comparable to the life we have in Christ. This husband-and-wife duo offer earthy indie folk sound wonderfully married with uplifting pop arrangements. Blue Flower is a savory delight for the senses and soul.

Jon Foreman: Roll Tape: Live From Melody League Studios (independent)

Earlier in the year, Jon Foreman released his independent album Departures, which was his way of working through the darkness, decay and death of the 2020 Covid quarantine. Now he offers those tunes as a live version. Roll Tape: Live From Melody League Studios reflects how we are not fully healed from the pain, fear and suffering from the previous year, but we are coming out for a breath of fresh air as we continue to process where we stand and how to move forward. 

Newsboys: STAND (Capitol CMG)

Newsboys returns with another solid album that encourages listeners to stand firm in their faith and the truth of God. It’s been five years since Newsboys has released an album. STAND is consistent to previous sounds delivered with a mainstream pop style, it’s an upbeat and hopeful album. 

Mac Powell: New Creation (Capitol CMG)

Former frontman of the band Third Day, Mac Powell, releases his full-length solo album, New Creation. Powell’s voice is recognized throughout the world, and now he shares his personal story and journey in faith. “After the Third Day farewell tour, I took some time to pursue being an independent artist, and I think it was really helpful in getting me to this moment,” shares Powell.
