During the season that’s surrounded by consumerism, the Lord reminds us that things don’t solve any problems. God’s intention is to satisfy our every need. When we offer Him our gratitude, we will discover God’s peace.
Shoes, clothes, jewelry, cars, phones — the idea that you need tons of stuff is crammed into every direction you look! Consequently, the media promote these ultra-materialistic ideas. Somehow it’s becomes impossible to escape. Our culture is obsessed with obtaining as much stuff as possible, and it’s easy to forget that having everything you desire is NOT normal. The majority of the world lives without the riches presented in the media. So it’s time to acquire a more realistic perspective on a sensible life.
We’ve become bombarded by so much information that we’re unable to process the content that’s thrown our way. Due to the overwhelming nature of our current media, we don’t take the time to analyze how it impacts us, what we think about the information presented and how we feel about the pending trends.
