“The world often times has greater expectations of the church than the church has for itself.” If this is the case, then the church body (the body of believers) is failing the world. Not because we’re hypocrites, conservative or split on the topic of homosexuality, but because the world is looking for a Savior and we’re not giving Him to them. As the Church, we know the only Savior is Jesus. The world wants a Savior, they’re being drawn to the Savior, they need a Savior and we’re hiding Him from them.
The majority of our society comes home from a long day of school or work and plops themselves on the couch, in front of a TV and computer. Entertainment has become an escape mechanism. But what are we escaping from? Compared to the majority of the world, our life is pretty great.
The Bible shows us that our God is one, and yet three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit: a Trinity. The most controversial Person in the Trinity is the Holy Spirit, who has this quality of invisibility that challenges our human comprehension.
