Colossians 3:12 says, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” What does it mean to clothe yourself with the fruit of the Holy Spirit?
From the beginning of time, Satan has made things that are potentially dangerous or unnecessary look appealing. In Genesis 3: 6, Eve was drawn to the apple and Satan tempted her to do the unthinkable. The Bible states that Eve saw that the apple “was pleasing to the eye and desirable for gaining wisdom.” (NIV) This means it was attractive and she wanted what it offered.
At some point we all have to decide what we believe to be true. That includes the Bible. We have to decide if the Bible is true.
We take a lot for granted: the roof over our heads, a healthy body, teachers and an education that trains us for our future. We go about our day forgetting to be grateful for these small things. And, we do the same for the big blessings in our lives. But, Jesus expects us to be thankful for all He provides us.
Society is struggling to define what it means to be a female. Jesus often sees women as more worthy then they see themselves.
God made you beautiful, inside and out, and the Fruit of the Spirit is one way that reflects the inner beauty God gave you. In Proverbs 31:10-31, there’s an example of an amazing woman, inside and out. She displays the Fruit of the Spirit in her daily life.

The word “humility” is one that the church throws around a lot. Since we live in an ego-centric and catty world, it’s a characteristic that our society doesn’t deem as important. Therefore it’s very difficult to even know what humility is and how to be humble.

In church, I hear about finding rest through quiet time, prayer, reading the Bible and worship. But I rarely hear anything about why I sleep so much.
