As Christians, when we set our own selfish ambition aside and ask God to rule our lives, our character begins to emulate that of Jesus Christ. Through the Holy Spirit, we become more like Him and less like our self. One of the most obvious ways to see this change in our lives is to look at the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
Colossians 3:12 says, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” What does it mean to clothe yourself with the fruit of the Holy Spirit?
It’s fun to contemplate all the wonder that comes from accepting the Spirit. By asking Jesus to be Lord of our life and receiving the Spirit, we enter into a deep connection with the Lord, where the Holy Spirit leads us, guides us, directs our lives and teaches us to assume the character of Christ.
God made you beautiful, inside and out, and the Fruit of the Spirit is one way that reflects the inner beauty God gave you. In Proverbs 31:10-31, there’s an example of an amazing woman, inside and out. She displays the Fruit of the Spirit in her daily life.
