What girl doesn’t dream of how “Mr. Right” will bend down on one knee with a gorgeous ring in his hand and ask the remarkable question, “Will you marry me?” This dream brings such joy to so many young women.
Whether the real proposal you receive is better than you wished, or something totally humorous or unexpected happens, there’s one proposal that is perfect and everlasting.
Christ’s perfect proposal to each of us on cross.
On the cross, Christ proposed to take all your sins, all your imperfections, all your mistakes and mess-ups upon himself so you no longer have to bear that misery. He took your shame and your guilt. He took your wrongs and your pains. He took it all with Him, and then He died for you. He made you clean. He purified your heart. He took on everything bad, so you could understand your worth. He loves you so much, that He died for you. He values you so much that He bears all your weaknesses and gives you His strength.
Then, He rose from the dead, so you didn’t have to live without Him and so that you could live with God, His Father, in heaven forever. What a remarkable proposal. He’s asking you to let Him do that for you, and all you have to do is say, “Yes!” You have to agree to believe that He did that for you and commit to Him by choosing to follow Him. Just like a marriage proposal, are you willing to commit to Jesus? Because He is fully committed to you.
Why is He committed?
Jesus Christ is committed to you because He knows your worth. He sees how incredible you are. He sees what you’re capable of. He knows what your purpose is, and He wants to walk alongside you to help you fulfill it. Just like any man worthy of marriage, Christ wants to show you how beautiful and precious you are. He wants you to see your worth every day. He wants you to feel worthy of His great love because His heart deeply longs for you.
He knows your imperfections, but He doesn’t see those little hindrances. Instead, He focuses on how amazing you are. He made you that way. He’s proud of you, and He wants you to live a blessed and beautiful life. That is why He does what He does. He wants you to have freedom to be your beautiful and competent self. He wants you to live your fullest life and He wants to do it with you. He wants you to understand your own beauty and worth, so He takes on anything you need Him to so His glory can be revealed through you.
Your Perfect Proposal
Christ has demonstrated His commitment to you, will you commit your life to Him? Will you respond and say, “Yes, I will follow you Jesus?” A life with Him is so much more precious and glorious than a life on your own. Join Him, walk beside Him, let Him lift you up and love Him for eternity.
